OnePlus Nord 6 Launches Today in India — Price, Specs, Sale Date, and Everything You Need to Know

Story By - Jack Miller 2026-04-07 Technology, Smartphones 9

Technology, Smartphones
Today is the day OnePlus fans in India have been waiting for. The OnePlus Nord 6 goes official at 7 PM IST on April 7, and by all accounts, this is shaping up to be one of the most significant mid-range launches of 2026. The phone hits sale on April 9 at 12 PM on Amazon India and the OnePlus official website — so if you are planning to buy, you have about 48 hours from the moment of launch.

Here is everything confirmed and expected ahead of tonight's event.

What OnePlus Has Already Confirmed

OnePlus has been unusually transparent about the Nord 6 ahead of its official launch, revealing key specs through teasers and retail packaging leaks. The picture is fairly complete even before tonight.

Processor — Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
The Nord 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 — a 4nm chip with peak clock speeds of 3.2GHz and the Adreno 825 GPU. This is a meaningful upgrade over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 that powered the Nord 5. OnePlus is claiming over 2.5 million on AnTuTu, which would make it comfortably the fastest phone in this price range if the claim holds up. The phone comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage.

Display — 6.78-inch 1.5K 165Hz AMOLED
The display is a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate — the same panel used on the flagship OnePlus 15. It supports up to 3,840Hz PWM dimming and a peak brightness of 3,600 nits, which is genuinely impressive for this price bracket. For gaming, OnePlus is promising sustained 165 fps gameplay on titles like BGMI, Call of Duty Mobile, and Free Fire Max.

Battery — 9,000mAh with 80W Fast Charging
This is the headline feature. The Nord 6 packs a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery — the largest in the Rs 35,000–40,000 segment by a significant margin. OnePlus claims over 2.5 days of real-world battery life on a single charge. The phone supports 80W fast charging and reverse wired charging. For anyone who spends long hours away from a charger, this alone makes the Nord 6 a compelling proposition.

Camera
The camera setup is a dual-lens arrangement with a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide. On the front, a 32MP camera handles selfies and video calls. This is the honest trade-off on the Nord 6 — OnePlus chose battery and performance depth over a triple-camera arrangement. For buyers who shoot frequently across multiple scenarios, this is worth noting.

Build and Design
The Nord 6 comes in three colours — Fresh Mint, Holographic Quick Silver, and Pitch Black. The design features a flat metal frame and a flat back in a square camera island positioned at the top-left corner. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance — the best protection in this price segment.

Expected Price

OnePlus has positioned the Nord 6 as having the "largest battery in the Rs 35,000–40,000 segment," which is as clear a price signal as you are going to get ahead of an official announcement. Most reliable sources expect the base 8GB/256GB variant to land somewhere between Rs 34,999 and Rs 37,999. The Nord 5 launched last year at Rs 31,999, so a moderate price hike is expected given the significantly upgraded hardware.

Where to Watch the Launch
The launch event begins at 7 PM IST tonight. You can watch it live on OnePlus India's YouTube channel and Amazon India's product page. Sale begins April 9 at 12 PM IST on Amazon India and the OnePlus official website. Bank discounts and introductory offers are expected to be announced at the time of launch.

Should You Wait or Buy?

On paper, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, 9,000mAh battery, and 1.5K 165Hz display at under Rs 40,000 is a strong combination. The main competition in this bracket includes the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, Samsung Galaxy M56, and Vivo V70 FE — all of which have their own strengths. The Nord 6's battery and gaming performance will be the deciding factors for most buyers.

If display quality, battery life, and raw performance matter most to you, the Nord 6 looks like a strong buy. If camera versatility is a priority, it is worth comparing with alternatives before deciding.
