United States President Donald Trump has brought global attention to Greenland. According to the media, he said that the United States needs to take over the control of Greenland due to national security. If America doesn’t, then Russia or China will seize the island, Trump said. But the government of Greenland directly said no to this statement.
Trump has been threatening to increase heavy tariffs on European countries, including Denmark, after China and Canada Announce Tariff Relief. He has said the tariff could begin at 10% from February 1, 2026, and expand over time to reach 25% on June 2026, if they do not support its right to the island.
